FuturePorts, a nonprofit, membership-based organization, represents a broad spectrum of the businesses in the goods movement supply chain, including maritime and shipping-related interests in the Southern California region. FuturePorts recognizes the San Pedro Bay Ports as regional assets, and advocates for balance between economic growth and environmental stewardship. FuturePorts embraces the philosophy that meeting current and future Ports development needs in an environmentally-friendly manner are not mutually exclusive concepts, and that harbor area improvements must be implemented in a balanced manner that alleviates congestion, improves air quality and minimizes community impacts
